  1. How much do you charge?
For a home user the charge is £25 per hour (this is also the minimum charge). Hopefully, we should achieve quite a lot in that hour. For business users the charge will be more – starting at £35 per hour (this is also the minimum charge). If you have a specific project in mind then I would do a quotation which would cover all of the work. If you live more than 5 miles outside of Olney town then there would be a “travelling fee”.
  2. Can you fix my PC?
The short answer is “possibly”. It depends on how old your computer is and what sort of condition it is in. The number one cause of computer crashes and data loss is hard disk drive failure. If your computer is five years old or more then we need to talk about backing up data, upgrading or replacing.
  3. I think my computer has a virus/malware on it. Can you clean it off?
If it’s “run of the mill” malware then “probably”. If it’s a more vicious infection like “cryptolocker” then be prepared for some heartache. If you haven’t made a data backup recently then you may not be able to get it back. I can advise how to keep your computer safe from viruses and malware. The best defence against viruses is to know your computer’s vulnerabilities and how to stay safe on the internet.
  4. What do you mean – “data backup”?
A data backup is a copy of your files (documents, photos, music and other information in electronic form) that you can retrieve if your main files are destroyed or lost.
