I&#8217;m Ian Burnside, an independent support guru based in Olney, Buckinghamshire UK.<\/p>\n<p>I have a BSc. degree from the Open University and I help people, individuals at home and people with businesses who need support with computing\/technology requirements.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m loathe to say <strong>computer<\/strong> support as, these days, computers are much more reliable and &#8230; hey you may be using a tablet or smart-phone anyway. The emphasis is on supporting <strong>people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>My job is to help you to get the most out of your technology.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If something doesn&#8217;t work the way you want it to I&#8217;ll help you to fix it.<\/li>\n<li>If your computer is actually broken then I can diagnose what&#8217;s wrong and, if possible, fix it for you.<\/li>\n<li>If you don&#8217;t know what the possibilities are then I can help you with that too!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There\u2019s a list of services <a href=\"http:\/\/personal-computing-support.co.uk\/index.php\/services\/\">here<\/a> which seems to go on forever. If it&#8217;s not on the list just ask.<\/p>\n<p>The emphasis is on jargon free, simple solutions to the problems that crop up for everyone with a computer. If you&#8217;ve never used a computer (or tablet or smartphone) before or don&#8217;t know even where to start then I can guide you through the possibilities and choices. The <a href=\"http:\/\/personal-computing-support.co.uk\/index.php\/tame-my-technology\/\">&#8220;Tame My Technology&#8221; <\/a>section of the website will explain some of the basic concepts like &#8220;e-mail&#8221; and &#8220;backups&#8221;.
